Arizona legislature bans ethnic-studies programs -... →
pskrizia:
The bill forbids Arizona schools from using any curriculum that promotes “the overthrow of the United States government” or “resentment toward a race or class of people.” It also disallows any curriculum that’s “designed primarily for pupils of a particular ethnic group” or that seeks to “advocate ethnic solidarity instead of the treatment of pupils as individuals.”

Finally.
I’m caught up… well, almost o_O. I was looking at my calendar today and I realized that I’ll be flying out to NY in about +/- 6 weeks. I also realized that I’m probably going to be home in SD for about 5-6 days before I take off because of work and moving and such. All of this made me realize that I don’t have a lot of time :(. Here on out, it’s school, work and...
Post-PCC
Defs hit the ground running. The pile of readers and assignments were definitely waiting for me in my mess of a room (which I will clean VERY soon) so that sucked. But PCC made me the happiest I’ve been in a while. I’ll post something about that later with pics.

About 10 days until opening night. I’m excited and nervous. My body is already exhausted and I’m already behind on my classes. I’ll should be fine as long as I commit to these next few days being my sleepless nights. I’m a beast, right?
Nothing Beautiful Comes from The Ghetto.
There’s been so much on my mind.
SIO weekend. Although I did not volunteer as much as I’d like to, I’m glad that I was there for the time that I could give to it. I volunteered for DHE this time around and the participants were pretty dope. I’m really sad that I didn’t get a chance to meet much of the ASF and DHE participants, but you know about those priorities....

Elian Gonzalez as a teenager?! →
I remember way back when the issue of Elian Gonzalez escaping Cuba was a big thing. I remember when he was a only a baby (kinda, more like 6 years old) and there was a big debate on whether he should stay in the US or go back to Havana. In the end, he went back to Havana and that’s the last I heard about that.
I saw this article on Yahoo! news and it just gets me thinking. If he were to...

-I’ve been on all sorts of emotional high’s and low’s and I don’t see people often enough to talk about this shit
-As I draw closer and closer to June, I get more and more excited about my field study
-As I draw closer and closer to my...
